Understand your testing options

COVID-19 testing has been continually evolving as we better understand how the virus behaves. There are currently four main tests you can take. They include:

  • Rapid antigen 15-minute test: Using a nasal swab, we can detect traces of the novel coronavirus in your respiratory system. This test is fast and economical, but it is not the most accurate form you can take.
  • Rapid antibody 15-minute test: If you've had COVID-19, your body will likely still have antibodies present in your blood. We'll take a small sample to detect the antibodies in as little as 15 minutes.
  • Same Day RT-PCR 30-minute test: Slightly more accurate than the rapid antigen test, the PCR test searches for the genetic material unique to the coronavirus. It requires a nasal swab and takes a half-hour for results.
  • Lab RT-PCR: Taking your nasal swab sample back to a lab for closer inspection, we can detect molecular traces of the coronavirus with greater accuracy. It may take up to three days to produce results.

If you can wait, the lab PCR test is often the best choice. For viral or antibody coronavirus testing, visit our urgent care facility today.

COVID-19 QR Code

Some destinations are now requiring a QR code, whether you are flying domestically or internationally. If that is the case, these must be provided by an approved laboratory or medical institution. These are especially common if you are flying to the Middle East. This QR code will hold your demographic information, health records, and other information.

If you need a QR code for your destination, please give us a call at 201-407-5069!
